Product Questions
Does the Osmio Zero remove oestrogen from the water
Question by: Nina on Feb 9, 2021, 1:21 PM
It is efficient for the reduction of hormones. The typical efficiency of Reverse Osmosis Membrane is - 93-96 %. This includes hormones.
Answer by: Irina Orlenko on Feb 10, 2021, 10:17 AM
Hi Nina yes it does reduce to below detectable levels <0.1mg/l. In short, any filters that use activated carbon filters are capable of removing around 50% of estrogen-based on the type of cartridge. All distillers, reverse osmosis and some ceramic filters (such as Coldstream) are also an efficient solution when it comes to hormone reduction.

Hi there I just wondering If this filter consume a lot of power?
Question by: Bunsong Wongsatham on Mar 6, 2021, 5:34 PM
Osmio Zero has an instant heating element, and the system only consumes high power when water is dispensed at 65C, 85C, or 100C. The system is very energy efficient, as it is heating water on a cup by cup basis. When filtering or dispensing ambient water - it is consuming very little.

Hi,
Does the Osmio machines give warnings when the filters need to be changed or would I need to automatically change them every 6 months?
Many thanks
Claire

Hello,
The system will give a warning if filters are blocked or exhausted.
We recommend changing filters every 6 months. We will send the filter remainder to the email used to place the order.

It said “ Removes dust, dirt, chlorine, fluoride, bacteria and viruses, pesticides, microplastics and unwanted flavors and adds minerals (10-20ppm)”
So what is the PPM after add mineral?
i live in omaha nebraska and the PPM here usually 214 or so for tap water. Another reason i want to know is becuase my espresso machine require 35-85ppm
To function properly

Hi Ezra, the reverse osmosis technology will reduce the TDS to around 30ppm (depending on the TDS of the feed water) and the remineralization process adds around 10-20ppm. My tap water is usually 360ppm and I just tested the water from the Osmio Zero and it came to 58ppm. In your case, it would be fine to use water from the Zero in your machine. In fact it will taste better!
